Head aching
Nose running
Throat sore
Temperature high
It's not man flu this time
Its flu plus sand
mixed with camel dung
That causes my lungs
To heave and cough
and hurt
Especially when the
hump comes up.

Xmas in another Culture
It's the middle of Winter
But not cold
Not unlike the home of Xmas
But Maqqah centres here
not Jerusalem.
Incongruous images of red gentlemen
jangle or jingle
on the nerves
No mangers here
But plenty of camels.
Xmas is an empty season
work as usual
But give me the Eids
Anytime.
